I'm perplexed at the good reviews this movie has. The main character is just annoying... I found it really difficult to empathize with her.
Doggos were adorable, but extremely formulaic. A harmless movie if you're looking to say "ohhhhh, good doggo!" a bunch!
How does one manage to make a movie about Elton John boring? We quit it 2/3 if the way in. Terrible.
Margot Robbie and Will Smith were completely implausible as a couple. And her character was so one-dimensional. Lots of plot holes. The final plot twist/reveal had me rolling my eyes. I did enjoy the scene in the Super Bowl box though...
Statutory Rape With A Lot Of Gratuitous Swimming would have been a more fitting title. Didn't like anything about this movie. The main characters are not likeable, esp Oliver. Tried too hard to be artsy: bizarro musical score and long camera shots. The apricot tree! The obscure books! The journal! And I kept thinking "put a damned shirt on, would ya?" Pretentious and really, really plodding. Wish I had 2 hours and 12 minutes of my life back.
