I feel this film is showing its age. The stereotypes are so obvious - the brash kid from the abusive background who fights all the way through with rich girl only for them to get it together at the end; the freaky girl who gets a make-over and decides she is beautiful before getting off with the athletic one; and finally the geek who is too brainy to be attractive but easily persuaded to do the hard work for the other kids. Once was enough.
I love this film. The acting is superb and there is so much going on - three love relationships going wrong; 3 son / (surrogate) father relations; the outsiders who try and bring their form of justice to an environment they dont understand. The cinematography and setting are amazing. A truly brilliant film.
This is a haunting film which really evokes the times and places of the story. The film captures the viewer in a journey of 2 lovers who seem unable to fit, alone or together, in the places and times in which they find they themselves.
I really loved this film. To be honest the title has been putting me off but I loved the easy feel and the way I got drawn into the characters. I ended up really wanted things to work out. Great storytelling.
This film was funny and entertaining. Whilst the story was relatively predictable, the film was engaging mostly due to the performances of the 3 leading actors. Great fun.
