Solid sequel with good high points but also more misses than the previous one but Farva is strong add Cox and a bear and you have a winner
Solid flick, with an interesting concept that for me wasn't really a horror film. More of drama on repressed grief and the effects on the human mind.
A very good addition to the canon. I thought they did a good job at answering the time tested question of why was there a flaw in the design of the death stars and how did the rebellion find out about it. I liked Saw,, wished he would of had a little bit more time to show his character, but I felt most of the new characters were interesting and especially Cassian, Baze and Chirrut. I also really liked how the story tied right into A new hope. The only thing was it was a little predictable, but that was kind of a given since the outcome was inevitable. Most of the flaws were small and more nit picking than anything.
Bill Murray does Bill Murray things in this holiday flick that takes a new spin on the classic tale. Some of the special effects are dated, but overall I think it is a solid christmas movie.
While not a classic as the original, this movie has its spots. The main high points here are the very dark black humor that will either make you like the film or hate it entirely.
Solid Marvel flick overall, with decent action and plot movement throughout. Maybe not a home run for me as I was never a huge strange fan, but enjoyable none-the-less.
A christmas classic and a childhood favorite. Its a little cheesy at times due to the special effects of the 80's but overall a very enjoyable movie.
Liked the openendedness and intrigue of the ending and what it sets up. Overall a pretty typical horror film and better than its predecessor.
Even with Mikey's return, this film was way over the top in the kill scenes. Many totally unbelievable or way cheesy. The highlight is the ending, it gets a couple of stars by itself.
Horrible, busta not only killed Mikey, but the franchise with this one.
Very original flick, crazy how this is from 1983 and yet still seems relative today. Woods and Harry have really strong showings. Long live the new flesh.
Mediocre at best, but really disappointing considering it was a del Toro flick.
Solid King flick, bits of creepy wrapped in a tragic story. Church and Jud lead the way in this one.
Another step down, but interesting to see the switch for Walken's character. I also liked the couple of nods to the original film that are contained in here.
A step down from the original but still some good points and another interesting storyline. Also Walken.
I've always had a soft spot for this film and Walken in general. His portrayal of the angel of Death is the driving force of this film. Viggo also is strong with his showing as the fallen one. The plot is interesting, but it feels like a little bit is missing at the end. Still a fresh take and idea.
An interesting horror flick, but left wanting a little more as I thought the plot and one of the main twists was pretty simple and evident after the first few minutes of the film. I read up about the film afterwards since it was so highly rated and I felt a little disappointed and then I find out that they actually changed the ending for the american release and I would have definitely preferred the original ending based on the description.
Solid action filled flick with Mel leading the way and doing some solid work. The history is a little shoddy, but most historical movies are, as the truth doesn't sell tickets. Maybe runs a tad long IMO, but still a fun watch.
Rather solid film and was pleasantly surprised given some of the reviews. I feel there were enough small intricacies to make it enjoyable and most of the characters were portrayaled decently and as was apocalypse properly. Maybe a little more depth to the characters would of been nice or if this had been part of a three part film set to build up a little more it would have been better. Really wish Marvel Studios would actually get a crack at this franchise as its my favorite by far.
Fantastic flick showing the depths of the organized crimes in some of the urban areas of Italy. The film follows around a myriad of different characters throughout their existence, probably the most telling is the one involving two eager teenage gangbanger wannabes. Overall the plot is a little soft given as there is no real direction other than just showing the different lives and keeps this from being an all time classic IMO.
