Like a surprise gift. Really good.
Still well worth watching, but S04 feels like it's lost sharpness and focus.
Their is some weakness in the plotting and writing, but Harriet Dyer as Cassie Bishop is excellent as the compassionate yet emotionally scarred lead. Most of the supporting cast are very good. I hope there'll be a S02.
PW-B is an amazing talent.
During the 1st season, The Rookie has grown into a solid ensemble drama with timely comic relief. The story lines and the characters are developing real human depths, weakness, and strengths. Nathan Fillion is reliably amiable as well as appropriate the the darker events. I hope for S02.
Fantastic stories (central and the many connected sub-plots.) Great characters, every seemingly caricatured character is given humanizing moments. Wayne and Del are written (and played) with enormous depth, compassion, and humor. (Note: the S01 closer waited until the last minute to leave the possibility for a S02. Yahoo, please, please renew.)
