If you're a fan of musicals Moulin Rouge! is a must see, starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. Guilty pleasure of a film mixed with love, music, fun, but also heartbreaking. An interesting mix of the time period of the late 1890's and a modern musical.
Creative idea having different directors make short horror films all tied into one, but most concepts were not pleasant or even enjoyable for a horror fan. Some segments were far better than others giving off a non coherent feel and a low standard. Also home video, shaky camera type of horrors are completely unoriginal.
Barbara Stanwyck stars as a nurse working for a corrupted doctor. She gives a good performance as she always does. A cool product of pre-code cinema, even including a little swearing and stripping. My favourite part will have to be the ending as she rides off with her gangster boyfriend.
Alright but no, I wouldn't watch it again. A product of the pre-code era with nudity and a married man falling for another woman. Claudette Colbert transforms from a conservative school teacher into a provocative jungle queen. Overall not DeMille's best work, a classic pre-code piece though.
