If you like Melissa McCarthy's brand of comedy (which I do) you will probably enjoy the silliness of this movie. As usual, she plays the sad sack in the film. It is not up to the standards of some of her better films, but completely enjoyable family fun.
I saw the cut theatrical version when it came out and felt that it was choppy and not completely satisfying. Although the director's cut is a big, big time investment (I suggest you watch this 4 hour monster in two installments), it is so much more satisfying and complete. There is so much more explanation now and the movie makes sense. This is the film DC should have released. Outstanding.
Story of two damaged strangers traveling on an emotional journey towards a new home and a new beginning. It concludes with a satisfying ending that brings a tear and a smile to your face. Wonderful performances.
