Movie Ratings and Reviews

Although the story may not be up to today's standards, and may remind you of the Land Before Time, it still provides limitless entertainment, and the CGI steals the whole show with the amazing rendering. I remember watching this relentlessly as a kid. Definitely a movie your kids will love if they love dinosaurs like I did when I was a kid.

All I have to say: This film is utter garbage. *Drops mike, walks off stage*

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens

No words can express how much I like this film. This is my favorite film of 2015/2016. John Boyega is a brilliant actor (see my review of Attack the Block for more), and Daisy Ridley-WOO!-What a lady! This film annihilated any negative expectations, and was an absolute blast! Not that I didn't think this movie was going to be good.

Ghostbusters (1984 Original)

Being one of my favorite movies, the only things I can say about this film are positive! Funny and brilliantly acted and directed, with awesome special effects, this film leaves you with a very happy feeling, like you actually watched a good film instead of watching a terrible film that lowers your self esteem just so you can take a crap on it. Great film, check it out!

Back to the Future

This is one of my favorite movies. It's very entertaining, and cleverly crafted. It's got a few cliches, but they work so well with this movie. It's got a brilliant score, and great visual effects for the time. Great film, check it out.

Attack the Block

A great film that is scary, fun, and thrilling at the same time. You get to know the characters, and find that they aren't just thugs, but they're kids, too, and you end up rooting for them. The FX are great, and it's very well acted and directed. Just give it a watch and suspend you disbelief.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Easily one of my favorite movies of al time, with great performances, thrilling action sequences, jaw-dropping VFX, and a story line that no other Terminator film can top. 4 1/2 stars, check it out.

The Lost World - Jurassic Park

If you watch the movie for what it is, and ignore what other people say about it, then it truly is a good movie. Yeah, the people are boring (Jeff Goldblum and Richard Attenborough make this movie worth while), but the dinosaurs are still cool, and it's also pretty thrilling. Give the movie a watch, and just have and open mind. Yeah, it's a little hard to have that these days.

Jurassic World

This is my favorite movie from recent years. The sheer spectacle of it was brilliant. They used animatronics, some fantastic CGI, and Chris Pratt. Enough said. Also, it had a lot of product placement. Like Claire in a Mercedes-Benz and Owen (Chris Pratt) working on a Triumph while drinking a Coke. Enough said. It was overall a fantastic time, and if you go, you'll have a fantastic time, and it'll be fantastic. Four-and-a-half stars, check it out!

Back to the Future Part III

Even though it's the worst in the franchise in my opinion, it certainly holds up. Although it's not as good as the first two, it's simplicity makes it stand out. The second movie had problem after problem, but this one, in a way, relaxes the franchise. The only thing I don't like about it is the Clara character. I feel that she gets in the way, and is a little awkward whenever Doc Brown is around. Well, I guess I can't blame her. After all, she is in love.

The Martian
The Martian(2015)

Just saw this movie, and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. With epic visuals, a thrilling climax, and funny as hell dialogue, this film nails it as my second favorite movie of the year, but that's also because I've only seen one other film in the cinema this year, which is Jurassic World. Matt Damon is amazing in this. In fact, everyone is. Ridley Scott, you've done it again. You've made an excellent picture.

While I really enjoyed this movie as the most original and interesting film of the decade, and really enjoyed the premise and beautiful cinematography, it's a bit slow, and not for everyone. And, not that it's bad, but the story is a bit odd. Well, I guess that's what you'd expect from a movie about a killer tire.

30 Days of Night

While at times it can be thrilling and scary, with acceptable acting, the movie as a whole is confusing and has disorienting camera work. However, the music is really good.

Jason and the Argonauts

The movie itself is by no means a masterpiece, but it is very entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The stop motion is definitely the main highlight, and the skeletons are awesome. Ray Harryhausen was the master of stop motion special effects, and may he rest in piece (1920-2013). This film is one of my favorites, and I would be lying if I said it wasn't good. If you want a fun, magical film for the whole family, or just for yourself, this would be it.

Death Bed: The Bed That Eats

A terrible film with some creativity in it. I would not recommend it, though. It's not a so bad it's good film, it's just TERRIBLE.

Godzilla, or Gojira, as it was originally named in Japan, is an effective monster movie and is considered, by me, to be one of the darkest movies from the 50s. It's original release was in 1954, but was released in America in 1956, entitled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, and has since been a part of Japan's pop culture.

Back to the Future Part II

Only a little less better than the first, this is one of the best sequels I've seen. No matter what people say about it, it's entertaining as hell. The CGI is pretty impressive for 1989, and although it doesn't hold up as much as the first, it's pretty damn entertaining.

Mega Shark vs. Mecha Shark

What a terrible film! None of the characters are engaging (well their engaged, just not interesting), and the effects have that signature look of any Asylum film.

Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus

This is a movie that makes Jaleel White seem like he's not an actor. This is definitely better then the first, but I can't say the same about the third movie.

Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus

An utterly terrible film. Seriously, I hate this movie. It's terrible, but the only scene that's worth while its when the shark launches it self out of the water and takes down a jumbo jet!

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

Watching this makes me feel like a kid again. It's a great film for kids.

Jurassic Park III

Not an effective sequel, but certainly changes the franchise up a bit by adding the Spinosaurus aegyptiacus into the mix, but the plot is weak, and a weak excuse to make another sequel. It's definitely the worst in the series, but the action scenes are thrilling and the score is spot on and amazing.

The Lost World

I really liked this mini-series. I have it on VHS, and I've seen it quite a few times. The special effects are great for a two-parter, and the acting is as well. It can get a bit slow at some points, but it's an overall great retelling of Sir Author Conan Doyle's novel.

Jurassic Park

I love this film. It's my favorite film of all time. Jaw-dropping SFX, brilliant acting and directing, and a great music score. It's story is built around cliches, but it feels new and fresh, which is what Spielberg does best. I give this five stars.

Godzilla 2000

Godzilla 2000 is an okay installment in the Godzilla franchise. However, it has by far the best dubbing I've ever heard in ANY Godzilla movie. The film has it's moments, but lacks in over all thrills. The CGI is crap, but the miniatures and suit-mation are terrific. It's worth a watch, check it out.

Tucker and Dale vs. Evil

Great film laughed my butt off. It's everything a horror/comedy fan could ask for. And in the words of Joe Bob: "Four stars, check it out."

Three stars it good. This movie is great, but there's not enough Godzilla. I saw a documentary with Elizabeth Olsen saying, "You really care about the characters in the movies you love, and you want to make sure they're okay..." She's right, we do care a bout the characters (most of the time), but Godzilla's a character, too. The monster battles are awesome, and CG is done well.

Godzilla: Final Wars

I love this movie. While at first I didn't like the human fight scenes, I started to love them after repeated viewings. This movie you definitely have to watch more than once to like it, but if your a fan of Godzilla, Star Wars, and Kong Fu Wu Tang/the Matrix, then this movie is for you.
