This is cheesy, stereotyped crap. It's like if the movie Friday starred Chicanos and was supposed to be seen as a drama.
KCOP-TV in Los Angeles gave this movie a "10+!". I'm hoping that's out of 100..lol
My all time favorite movie. With the world the way it is today, it just makes the movie feel even more accurate and relevant.
What a crapfest! This was his retort to Metropolis, but is trash in comparison.
Not worth the hype. We've come to the point where if anything Star Wars is at least watchable, it gets full approval. The reality is it's just a cash grab, and like episode one, people will grow to see how bad it is, after the hype has faded.
It's mediocre at best. The only 2 good Star Wars movies are: The original Star Wars (NOT this re-issued "Episode IV" garbage) and Empire Strikes Back, both before any post-release changes.
Everything else is uninspired, cookie-cutter nonsense, this included. I'd normally give this like the middle 2.5 out of 5 stars, but with so many people blindly giving it a 5, I felt it needed to be counter-rated.
For the movie itself: The acting is bad. The story is expected. People are rewarding it for "using real sets, no CG", but that's like a participation ribbon at a track meet. Films are SUPPOSED to used sets and not rely on chroma screens. In this "everybody wins" era of media, everybody loses, because we're praising the average, when great movies are getting pushed out of theaters for this.
