This voyage is undeniably intense, it's just too bad that the sea on which the ship sails surpasses the depth of the characters aboard. On the bright side, the return of Rick Moranis's Dark Helmet as Hank's subordinate proves quite a sight for the sorest of eyes.
It will probably satisfy hardcore friends of the franchise, but those eager for something new may be disappointed.
There is a reason this thing had been consigned in development hell...
Kudos to Mr. Emmerich for raising the funds for this passion project, but the money seems like it would better be served elsewhere in this self-reflexive titled venture that ironically pinpoints the exact moment most people will likely abandon the viewing. And what's up with Mr. Skrein's accent?
Not bad by any means, just mis-marketed.
