It's a good action movie with an eye of respect for the original series and old action movies too.
While modern audiences say that this movie is "too over the top" and "silly plot", I would compare this with the John Wick who is highly lauded, and which made me "yawn" from the first movie up to the point where I stopped midway while watching the second one: that movie has really nonsense action, and a very fleeble plot just set there to give a reason for John to kill people and show how badass he is.
But in the end, is boring and nonsense.
A-team on the other hand is funnier, with one-liner and witty remarks, and don't takes itself too seriously, so is more interesting to watch and to enjoy the endless action in it.
Also, the characters are more interesting (granted that's because they were already developed by the serie), and the plot has a bit more twists and ideas behind it: not the greatest plot in the world, but really more than "they killed my dog".
For that reason I give it 4 stars, though I think it would deserve probably just 3.5: because it compares way better to similar movies of this era.
Interesting take on dracu!a, merging legend and story, and an enjoyable action movie too. I wonder why critics hammered it down.
The first movie was fun, innovative and interesting. Over the top but in a credible sort of way. This one destroys any credibility from the start, and the end of the movie (no spoiler) was such that I saw the end titles and said "what? This is the end of the movie??? O__o": I was not expecting it, seemed to me that the final sequence made no sense even in the context of what little story there was in the movie till that point.
Everything seems just gratuitous and put there for the graphical side of it.
I have nothing against over the top action scenes or even grotesque non-sense, but the whole must make sense, else I can't enjoy it.
I give it two stars just because the action scenes are fun, and there is some humor, but mostly because I love Jason and the previous movie, but is a shame that this is the sequel...
