The actors and special effects delivered like you've come to expect, but the story was weak. I wanted MCU Spider-Man to be ratcheted up a notch and to be taken more seriously. Mysterio would not have been a real threat to any of the Avengers. The MCU has not yet unlocked the potential of Spider-Man's abilities to be a real hero. It was more of a teen road trip comedy that didn't take the super hero seriously until the last act. When Happy saw the connection between Peter and Tony Stark and paid homage by playing "Back in Black" was one of the most enjoyable moments of the film, because it was a feeling of "finally". Also, who comes up with these titles? "Homecoming"? "Far From Home?" It's Spider-Man, not Mary-Kate and Ashley.
It's a fun, dazzling spectacle that is a good live-action update. The singing isn't always great, and Massoud is more of a Disney channel teen heartthrob rather than a Disney blockbuster star, but he holds the role ok. Smith does a fantastic job doing the impossible and adding new attitude to Genie, and I think the movie works mostly because of his skill. Marwan Kenzari is a huge disappointment as Jafar, but Naomi Scott is a pretty perfect Jasmine.
A great, final send-off of the saga.
Doesn't do justice to the music of Mary Poppins. They also completely missed the point of the Bird Lady and the Bank and investing Michael's twopence. They got it backwards, and in this sequel the greedy capitalist bankers were right all along, saving the house. No, the writers didn't do their research.
