It's captivating, authentic- American Honey's story flows onto the screen more naturally than any film I've seen in recent memory. It feels as though I'm watching real people live real lives, in places I've actually been. Sasha Lane and Shia LeBoeuf both played their characters brilliantly. An easy five stars.
To put it simply, 'Let It Snow' is 'Love, Actually' for people under the age of 25. Just a lot of cute relationships on Christmas. I can't see anyone who likes an occasional fluffy christmas romance watching this and not enjoying it.
Jessica Barden's performance was perfect. I could tell while watching that she really cared about this project and her character- and now I do too. The film explores a lifestyle that more snobbish types might turn their noses at, but I really respect sex work and I think this film does sugar babies justice. But beyond that- and perhaps more importantly- it's a great coming of age story. It only falls short in the last few minutes, it felt like they needed five, ten more minutes to finish the story they were telling.
