The writing, acting and general feel of the film capture our generation so well. You laugh at them because they're you; righteous, naive, useless, idealist, incurable optimists even in the midst of an apocalypse.
Pros: the cinematography, the incredible cast (cynthia erivo and jeff bridges esp, but all of them)
cons: becomes repetitive, both in writing and directing. Good writing and directing though.
Would recommend, a good watch.
Loved the first one, loved the sequel. They managed to keep it original and true to the story and characters and I just love Maleficent and Aurora's relationship so, so much.
A bit heavy on the gratuitous vulgary at first - we get it, sex and cursing around kids - but somehow halfway through it started really getting to me. I pick weird films, I know, but Lupita defeating zombies with taylor swift music was unexpected and fun.
Visually, the long-shots and staging were pretty cool to see and helped walk in this character's shoes for a bit. It even works emotionally but did we really need another story about a white man dealing with how tragic and senseless war is?
