The acting was over the top, with Scott yelling his lines on multiple occasions. The interaction with Rigg's character was totally contrived. The movie is not worth your time.
This movie has potential but unfortunately is yet another melodramatic lesson in racism. Dr. Don Shirley is portrayed as an effete snob who gradually loosens up under the relentless bantering and coarse behavior of the stereotyped Tony Lip. Southerners are dutifully portrayed as hypocritical racists. I was totally bored about half way through the movie.
It went on and on and on ...... Oh, please let it end!!!!!!!
This movie was a real disappointment. The dialogue is bland, the music and singing are nothing special, and the characters are stereotypes. Lady Gaga did a respectable job whereas the performance of Bradley Cooper as the fading, drunken rock star was boring.
Decadent and debauched. Oh, and one more thing: boring, boring, boring!!
