I first watched it because Johnny Depp looked just like Gotham's Penguin. It was really enjoyable to me, even though it appears that not many people think so. I was going to give it a 3.5, but all this backlash made me give it a rounded up 3.
It was entertaining and all, with some incredible scenes, but there's something lacking and I can't exactly say what it is, I just know it's there.
I actually stopped thinking about the movie as a "terror" movie and acted like it was some big brother kind of thing portraying this sad family. It was fun, at least. Wouldn't call it a waste of time, but also would not call it a masterpiece by any means.
An example of a horror done right. It Follows leaves you with that uneasy feeling even a week post-seen. I'm astounded by the fact that the audience score is so damn low for a movie like this. Really, just 66%?
One of the best social/cinema critics ever. The jokes are well put and the jumpscares are done right. I can't think of anything to rent about - except for the characters that seemed quasi immortal. That stoner should've loosed his movement at least four different times in this movie, but I guess pot gives you some regenerative abilities now.
