Ins!dious s0cial eng!neering at its most sh@meless. Equalizer is literally just a bl@ck dude going around ex3cuting wh!te people. This is !ntersectional an@lysis as a rel!gion, and here Denzel Washington is presented as the "f!nal s0lution" to the "wh!te people pr0blem".
All of the b@d guys are "ev!l wh!te men" and virtually all of the "good guys" are non-wh!te victims of said "ev!l wh!te men". Russ!ans in this movie are presented as a m0rally stunted ethn!c group, as stated by an almost equally m0rally compromised Ir!sh Amer!can just before he gets his face c@ved in by one of the afore mentioned Russ!ans.
Here, the cartoonishly ex@ggerated ev!l, central to the film's primary cr!sis is directly linked via spoken dialogue to Russ!ans as an ethn!c group. Aesthetically speaking Equalizer (2014) is a case study in western soc!opol!tical hyp0cr!sy, where people gr0ups are depicted in a manner which would be considered completely un@cceptable should the roles be reversed. If you need some help with that last thought, try imagining a movie where a wh!te protagonist spends 131 minutes m*rdering bl@ck people, and we're told "it's OK because they were b@d guys". I'm 100% sure that this gl!b explanation would not be enough to appease the cu1t of woke.
If all that weren't enough, Equalizer also comes with a healthy dose of 3rd wave fem!nism in the form of the main character's old boss, a g0vernment official and ClA handler, who for some reason looks like your high school Engl!sh teacher. The movie makes quite a thing over that fact that Denzel goes to her expressly to "ask permission" to fulfill his role in the movie, all while her husband, a wh!te man (but of course) waits on them in the meek and serv!le manner that neol!beral regress!ves dream about nightly.
The entire thing is so shabb!ly done however that even the dyed-in-the-wool neoM@rxists reviewing the film were unable to score the movie well. I guess they prefer to obfusc@te what they are or something, and when their side's pr0paganda is served up less subvers!ve than they'd like, they get a little peev!sh.
I used to like this movie. Sixteen years later (and sixteen years wiser) it's easy to see this movie for what it is: Messianic, race-m!xing pr0paganda couched in a schmaltzy vampires vs werewolves fiction. It's actually kind of funny how ham-fistedly preachy it all is, and when I found out which "group" the director is part of I wasn't exactly shocked.
I don't think this film is necessarily supposed to be subversive, but is more than likely a expression of someone's albeit sanctimonious worldview shoehorned into a screenplay, in the same self-indulgent manner that's become all too familiar in Hollywood productions over the years.
Mocks Christianity the entire time in a way that *pretends* to endorse it (as if people are too stupid to figure it out). This is done in a way that will likely offend religious people and annoy secular people all at the same time (I'm personally not religious btw). The allusions to NatSoc are back in this film, this time as typical WWII style propaganda meant to make the "Federation" look cartoonishly evil, unlike in the first movie (the only decent one in the series) which casts it in a neutral light. What can I say? This movie has the painfully obvious fingerprints of a certain rootless tribe all over it, and it's pure cringe from start to finish.
If you like your "entertainment" with a heaping dose of social engineering, messianic politics, anti-wh!te anti-western globalist dogma, then this boring and sanctimonious slog is for you!
