I have to admit, my expectations were low. The horrible casting choices, the ridiculous bastardization of everything about Spider-Man's (my favourite superhero for over 38 years) origin and character, especially the absolute exclusion of Uncle Ben, well... those and more things made me despise the first film in this series, though I do think the actors and actresses in the films this incarnation of Spider-Man were in are remarkable and if not for the bad writing of past films, I'd have enjoyed the first film, which I didn't.
However, THIS film, was actually very good! I honestly have no complaints, and as you can tell, I have many about the casting and the writing of the first film and radical departure from canon. Short of fixing those problems that were made in the first film, not this one, there isn't anything I would suggest to have made THIS film better. Tom Holland is a very good actor who does a very good Peter Parker, with the writing of the first two Raimi films, he would have possibly been the best, live action, Peter Parker! Although I still feel that the best Spidey acting performance actually goes to Andrew Garfield, from the Amazing series, he captures the persona the best, I feel.
Long story slightly less long, no matter which Spider-Man film you like best, this is one every Spidey fan should watch. If you are just looking for a fun, slick action/superhero film, this is a good choice, as well. :)
Worst Spider-Man movie, ever. Yes, I am including Spider-man 3.
Holland does his best, great acting job. The story though? Pure SJW garbage. Change EVER ethnicity and get every detail of his life wrong except his name. Where was Uncle Ben? Why was Aunt May a MILF? Why the replacement of his mentor, Uncle Ben, with Tony Stark? Because the writers don't know or love Spider-Man like the fans do. I've been a fan for four decades. I liked every other Spider-Man movie to varying degrees. HATED this one. Marvel FINALLY gets permission from Sony to make a Spider-Man movie and THIS is what we get?
I'm sure IMDB will not post this review, however, as it isn't PC. They don't want honest reviews. Just ones that align with the authoritarian SJWs.
Fun action scenes, fantastic acting by Gal Gadot.
Terrible Wonder Woman movie. Destroys canon in virtually every scene. Terrible plot. Terrible casting (great actress, wrong for the part, not her fault).
Flashy, great music. No substance, stupid tropes, Thor done wrong, a poorly executed rip off of Guardians of the Galaxy. Enjoyable to watch on a basic level. Bright, pretty lights, great music, mindless action. The adult version of playing with daddy's keys with a baby.
