I will say it's a very interesting plot and definitely speaks to a sinister reality that a lot of girls and women encounter in sketchy situations. I just thought the story could've gone deeper. And I hated the ending. You want her triumph, and she does in death, but is that really winning? Your best friend's rapist killed you. Idk. I don't like our heroine going out like that.
Loved this movie. It definitely had a very slow start, but it fit the bill for any other August Wilson screenplays. The character development and the turmoil between the characters was often heart wrenching to watch. But that final scene was the best scene in the whole movie when Gabe opens up heavens gates.
