Yes you have seen this mystery show before in various forms. It is well acted but ultimately covers ground we have been over too many times in recent memory. If you just need a decent mystery that will hold no real surprises, watch it. Otherwise prepare for mind numbing sameness that has come before it and will inevitably arrive next season in some other packing.
The best superhero show on TV right now especially if you have grown tired of the constant retreads.
A surprisingly compelling adult fantasy series with enough twists and humor to keep the story fresh. On the surface it is another pretty group of actors with a real world meets fantasy world premise but the show somehow manages to break free of the basics.
After watching the full first season a third time, I just cannot get enough. It is funnier than the movie and the actors are a joy.
There is just no part of this show that is sloppy. Good writing, good characters, enjoyable acting and at times riveting. It isn't a truly great show but these days it can be difficult to find an engaging TV show that hasn't been there and done that.
The ensemble cast makes this show. The gags and plots are repetitive but in a way "hanging out with the friends" sort of way. Hasn't gotten old to me yet.
On paper it looks like it is another generic P.I. show with predictable plots and retread stories but something in the acting and writing takes the show into unexpectedly fresh territory. It isn't surprising but it is enjoyable.
Another season of dry dark humor mixed with some fantastic writing. The show still turns unexpected corners which is difficult in this "seen that show in another skin" environment.
Still hilarious and entertaining. Sure the jokes can be a bit sophomore at times but that style seems to belong in this world.
It has a good concept but the writing, acting and origin premise are woefully inept. This would have been a decent show 10+ years ago but recent sci-fi, fantasy and comic book shows have raised the bar.
Why they felt the need to weave a ridiculous amount of family drama into the story is completely beyond me. People love a good origin story... next time don't skip right past it and drop us straight into absurd family concepts that wreak of lazy writing.
A better version of West World and more watchable than Blade Runner. Like most sci-fi it has some pacing issues and an occasional plot hole but compared to what has come before it, a very solid offering and interesting world to discover. Thankfully they mostly allow the audience to discover the world rather than beating them over the head with how it all works.
A Luke Cage retread with the cliche "I love you too much to be with you" drama, a forced gay story line and absurd teenage angst I guess added just to annoy. I don't mind any part of those cliche story lines when they are organic and well told. However so far this show is throwing all of it crudely against a wall and hoping it sticks. How this has a Certified Fresh rating is beyond me.
