Weirdly disjointed. Dialogue was trying to be edgy and clever and came off as confusing and fake. Should have been better what with the stars that were in it. John Krasinski was totally wasted. And just curious - if you're making a rom-com, should there maybe be some com in there?
Wow! This was soooooo bad. On every level .
Excellent movie! Engrossing plot with multiple twists and turns.
It seems these movie critics are as out of touch with the general public as political pollsters.
Great performance by Joaquin! Spellbinding, watching him descend into the abyss...
The competition between Dwayne and Jason was forced and relentless. Granted, there were a few funny moments, like when Jason had to drag body after body to the iris scanner before it would open, while Rock waited impatiently. But all in all, eminently forgettable movie.
Wow... Tough decision, should i see it or not? Critics 50% favorable but audiences 93%. Who to believe? Well, since only 7% of journalists are Republicans, and abortion rights are a major issue for Democrats and this movie features a Planned Parenthood leader who has become anti-abortion.... I enjoyed it!
Yikes... What a waste of time. Short periods of action, spliced together with long, long, long boring scenes of car chases and meaningless dialogue. They literally could have shot this movie in 15-20 minutes of action, and dialogue that actually added to the plot.
Weird about the critics low score. Not justified, most likely political bias. "Honesty? Any means to an end, baby..."
The problem with this movie is - I didn't care if anyone or who got eaten. None of the characters were appealing, like in the original Jaws. Even the cute little girl was annoying. But the special effects were pretty good, except for at the end when Jason Statham was stabbing Meg in the eye - shades of Ray Harryhausen!!
Not my usual genre, but my wife loved it and I thought it was a fun movie. Couple of good "jumps" and we were on the edge of our seats most of the time. Yes, it's been done before, but the evil was interesting and the good was not pure, so all in all I'd recommend.
Oh, for goodness sakes... What the heck are the critics smoking?
Gone With The Wind - 92%, Titanic - 88%, Raiders of the Lost Ark - 94%, Saving Private Ryan - 92%, Avatar - 83%. And then we have Black Panther at 97%. Yeah, right...!
Fun, interesting movie. Highly recommended.
