Fury is a war movie that wants to be like a "new" Saving Private Ryan, but does it do its job done? Well... how can I say it... hum... this movie sucks really hard. It wants to realistic and to show the horrific things that can change people during war, but it is just bad. I would like to talk about the nice things before, because I could take too long talking about the negatives and then I wouldn't remember to write down at least the positives. The visuals and the sound are great, as you can really feel like as you are in the middle of war during the movie, and the action scenes are very enjoyable. The actors are very good, and their performance is really nice, as they are really trying to make the movie better, but unfortunately they can't make this disaster good.
Now, I can talk about the negatives, and I would start talking about the "realistic" parts. I wouldn't know how to describe the scenes where the main characters fight with their enemies without the word "convenience". You know, when the main characters are surrounded by the most powerful enemies that they could have, and are in numerical disadvantage, but they still manage to win, like as if they are blessed by all the saints of the Paradise. I hope that I have explained enough the realism of this movie, as I don't want to talk about it anymore. Now let's talk about the "deep" parts of the movie, that should make you feel emotions for what's happening to the characters and their lives, but this thing is highlighted in just like two or three scenes, and it make me really feel something. These scenes are very PATHETIC, as I am supposed to care about what one of the main characters feels for another character that was introduced just like five minutes before. Anyway what about the plot? At least for the plot, I have nothing bad to say about it... oh, wait, it doesn't exist, now I remember why I have nothing to say about it.
If you want to watch just an action war movie, I could recommend to watch this movie, but if you want something more than some action (that thanks to that realism problem that I talked about earlier is unbelievable), don't watch this, there are lots of war movies that are better than this one.
They Call Me Trinity is a spaghetti western movie that has a lot to offer to a viewer. but first, let's talk about the plot, which is the weakest part of the movie, as it is very predictable and simple, but still good: this guy, Trinity, a bandit, meets his brother, Bambino, who has faked to be a sheriff because he killed the real one. Trinity starts to solve the problems of the village in which his brother is a sheriff, and tries to stop some criminals. Even if the plot is simple, we can know the characters very well during the course of the events, even if they are simple, too. Now let's talk about the real strong points of the movie: the action and the fun. This movie has lots of action going on, as the main character is the fastest gunslinger of the west, but it's all funny, thanks to the "special effects", that make the movie like a comic. The action scenes are very well written, as you can the different combat styles between Trinity and his brother, but there is always space for good old punches, instead of guns, and it's very funny, too. As I said, They Call Me Trinity is also very funny, but not thanks to jokes, as the characters say funny things , but they speak in a serious way, and sometimes the scenes can get even funnier... for the wrong reasons, as the movie aged very well, as some action scenes got hilarious with time, without getting ugly. Another great thing that I would like to point out is the relationship between the two main characters, in which Bambino looks like as if he hates Trinity, and at the beginning you can't really tell if they're really good or bad.
Now, let's talk about some more "technical" things. The soundtrack of this movie is fantastic, as it's very good, and I still think at it sometimes, and the visuals are still great after many year.
I would really recommend to watch this movie, as it is a true Italian masterpiece, that is very simple but still very enjoyable and laughable, that I see whenever I can, and that I hope that anyone who wants to watch something from the Italian cinema.
They Call Me Jeeg is an italian movie about this "superhero". The particularity of this movie is that it came out of a country that doesn't have a superhero movies tradition and that in the last years hasn't seen much good movies, but this is the redemption of Italian movies. The main character, Enzo, gets his superpower in a nice old 60s like fashion: he is intoxicated with radioactive materials and isn't a real superhero, as the first thing that he does when he discovers about his new powers is a theft. Enzo becomes kinda good thanks to the female character, Alessia, who is a girl with serious mental problems that thinks only at this anime, "Jeeg Robot", which is an old mecha anime from the 70s. Without spoiling too much about the plot, I would say that the villain is one of the best that I have ever seen: he is unpredictable, and he could decide to do whatever he wants, like killing a person without a real reason and just for fun, because he is FUCKING CRAZY, so much that he hates Enzo because he wants to be the only "villain" after Enzo's theft that I mentioned before.
Another thing that impressed me about this movie is the situation in which the characters are: they have squalid lives, and everyone wants to get out of these kind of lives, included the villain.
I would definitively recommend this movie, as it has a very nice plot full of twists, likable characters and is enjoyable, even though it has some serious themes going on, and to support these movies from Italy, where in these times is more and more difficult to find a new nice movie, and still Italian masterpieces like this don't get the attention that they deserve outside of Italy. Also, I know that this is just a personal opinion, but I really loved seeing a superhero with Rome as a background instead of an American, like many superheroes do.
