Good movie that slows down in the middle but delivers a good ending. Arkin deserved his Oscar nomination. Not sure it should have garnered a Best Picture nom. although it probably provided some humour and lightness at the height of the Cold War.
DeHavilland is the headliner but has a relatively small role. Frieda Inescort steals the show as her mother (although only 36 at the time). Good story buts strays at times.
Dietrich is good in this dull predictable film. Grant is good too but Marshall frowns through the entire movie.
Dull and predictable. Nothing secret or suspenseful about the 'six'. Wasted cast.
This movie is so far ahead of its' time on many levels. The cinematography and effects are brilliant but the storyline presents something new. The sexual depravity and abuse that Hyde inflicts on Ivy is scandalous for 1931 as is Ivy's lurid attempt to draw Dr. Jekyll to her bed. March is perfect as is Hopkins in an early role that boosts her career.
