Great for the entire family. WE took 10 year old son to this movie. Like the main character, who is close to his age, he is socially awkward due to so much SCREEN TIME. He like many if not most other children these days are addicted to their screens.... and this demon thing is a product of their collective loneliness that results. Classic thrills such as whats in the closet/under the bed combined with modern trends and tech such as face finder app on facebook (and it finds faces in the closet to add silly frames to). great kids movie.
I was expecting a deeper meaning linking the title to all the evil that is shown. We see a fight between good and evil, often with persons who are in positions of power being evil and one guy who does evil deeds in the name of good. In the end there is no deeper explanation or meaning other than the question of will the main character end up like his dad or not.
I love dystopian sci-fi movies and also movies that involve time travel such as "Timetrap" and "ARQ". This movie, however, was lacking in convolution. was expecting more twists. People moving backwards is okay, but I was looking for more twists and deeper plot.
