Quite an involving story, and strong performances especially from the two main leads. Good use of music, and some striking cinematography. Doesn't quite come together as well as it could. The narrative drive could be stronger, but pulls through. Certainly gave me some insight into the subculture of Italian football hooligans. Worth a watch.
This is a truly great film. Visually stunning, and beautiful photography. It very much has the feel of serious sci-fi from the 70s and 80s, like Omega Man; it has the kind of weight which is missing from much of modern sci-fi blockbusters. Also distinct echoes of 2001 Space Odyssey. The acting and script rarely put a foot wrong, and this is by far the best acting I've seen from Brad Pitt (and the most interesting role I've ever seen the venerable Tommy Lee Jones in). How this has such a low audience score I do not know - this is a true classic.
Involving and fascinating, with Spike Lee's usual stylish direction.
