It was ok. I got bored during parts of it. It was a rehash of the previous movie. Kids want to play with LEGOs. Parent is an obstacle to that. Looks like all is lost, then it all works out. yay. . . It's really sad. I totally loved the first movie. It was like they didn't have any original ideas in this one. The names of objects in the first one was great, like Kragle and the Sword of Exact Zero. The names in this on were significantly less inventive. They sounded like they were derived by a committee of adults rather than a kid. I still enjoyed it, but I'm not counting the days until I can get the blu ray like I was last time.
This is a great movie. Far exceeded my expectations. The characters have depth and propose. The world is interesting. The story is great. You care about the story and characters, plus you get great action. The main character is powerful, yet she isn't perfect. She has mystery, growth, failure, and progression. When she enteres a situation there's no guarantee she's going to succeed. I can't say enough good things about this movie. It far exceeds the stupid that gets fed to us on a regular basis. At the end of the movie you want a sequel not just because you want to see how it ends, but because you genuinely care what happens to these characters. I can't say that about the current major franchises with upcoming sequels. I am eagerly awaiting to see if this movie succeeds enough for a sequel. I really hope it does.
This is the movie that killed star wars. I love strong female characters like Ripley or Sarah Connor, but Rey is not a strong character. She's a Marry sue. Holdo didn't seem like any admiral I've ever seen in a movie before. She didn't dress like one. she didn't act like one. I could go on, but I won't. These are not strong women. the comedy elements looked more at home in a spaceballs movie than star wars. finn's suit leaking everywhere, the awful iron scene, poe mocking hux. No, this is just poor writing and an attempt to be funny in the wrong way. it didn't fit. Seriously I was in total disbelief about the iron. luke has been ripped to shreds like he didn't matter. they built up snoke only to get rid of him before we actually found out anything about him. phasma is a joke of a character. chewie has no purpose. the fleet chase scene was beyond stupid. seriously? the first order couldn't hyperspace right on top of them? THeir fighters couldn't catch the fleet and wipe them out? it was like they didn't even try to write a good movie. If you want to shove sjw crap down my throat, you can at least make a good story to go with it. The force awakens at least had redeeming qualities. This garbage was one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life, it was not the actors' fault.
Started off depressing or I would have rated it higher. It was funny as it progressed. The ending was good. And please stop taking your kids to see this. Dear God! I would not let my kids see this even if they were 17.
