Timothée Chalamet kills it. wished it was a miniseries instead of a movie. good acting all around. well done.
this was shot like a TV comedy series instead of a movie. a small number of scenes, especially early on, were almost soap opera-ish. i mean studio-ish, if that makes sense? i don't mean it as any kind of compliment. like people who know TV sets and something about movie sets, made a movie project. it was awful, but partly watchable. i got through it, i mean. that's saying something. if you think toxic masculinity is real, and you 100% hate it, this may be for you.
for me this was a very easy watch. had an indie feel but also with an excellent A league cast. well done film.
read the book a couple times back when. very good story. nice to revisit. didn't move out of my chair until the movie was over.
very well done film. engaging from start to finish. grim, but the description lets you know that going in.
