saving the idle youth of The Valley, one dojo at a time. didn't know of this show until a couple months ago. got through the whole thing in under 2 weeks. greatly appreciated no overt identity political stuff. thanks much for that. wouldn't have been able to watch if there was. good show for teens to get together and giggle over.
all or most all of the players were much more human this season. the focus on one persons divorce facilitated that, but also dragged the show down a bit. there are moments when watching this that i fantasize about being obscenely wealthy. deep thoughts like "i may be old fat and bald now, but after i win the biggest lottery prize in us history you WILL have me on your speed dial!" :)
Season 5-7 - after Bea it took time for the plot to settle in but they nailed it. as great as "Ferguson" is/was, Season 7 without her was better, as her character arc was getting too fantastical. the way they weave new characters into the story is top notch. there were a few times over the seven seasons that i would think to myself "i don't want to watch girl-girl", etc. turns out i did. now that is a WELL DONE show.
started binging this after seeing an RT suggestion that season 1 was an under-watched show. from season 1 thru 4 it has gone from an outstanding drama to a bit of a soap opera, so i rate a bit lower for that. i didn't think the "relationship" that season 4 brought us was going to work long term. it didn't fit? they took care of it. WOW, didn't see that coming. i'm somewhat hooked, and will see it through.
not bad at all. enjoyed the Belgium & Dutch cast. i would have MUCH preferred subtitles rather than English dubbing,
very enjoyable watch. i was intrigued right off, but then spent a few weeks watching other Netflix offerings, so maybe not really blown away. returned to the fourth episode and finished up in a couple days time. had to really dig to find something small i didn't like; the NY entertainment elite, whether straight, gay, or bi (usually the latter 2) seem to have a fascination with how many layers of clothing they can fit on an actor before they can no longer move.
watched the entire series over the last two weeks. damn, that was good. the all new cast for season 3 was REALLY weird at first. but damn, they were good. Netflix flexing some muscle!
filmed in Hindi, dubbed in English. watching on Netflix, so i turned on closed captioning. very very interesting translation of the dubbing to CC. added a sweetness that wasn't there with just the english dubbing. based on this series, and not knowing Bollywood, i would have thought Nawazuddin Siddiqui was the biggest star. Saif Ali Khan was also excellent as the co-lead. multiple characters were done well. a pleasure to watch.
i wasn't crazy about this at first. SVZ role seemed kinda off. i continued watching for the location shooting / scenery, the different automobiles the characters drove during Season 1 (i'm a car nerd), and the SUPER soundtrack. honestly, out of all 3 seasons, there were maybe 3 episodes that were fantastic. the rest were pretty good to okay. soundtrack was ALWAYS great. when this ended i wanted more.
sucks one in like the best of the best soaps, serials, & miniseries. vikings was first though. that show is way past tired, but, it was first. i watched every episode of both. this one may be better, only because it holds up better than vikings the farther in it gets.
it was extremely refreshing to see women on tv who don't appear like they mainline testosterone. kept me watching. the bad reviews are understandable too.
it's pretty good, especially during this "Stay At Home" time in our lives. there were just too many instances that i thought were more like a good TV show rather than a real good movie. know what i mean? Recommend.
little bits and pieces ("dancing on the rooftop" wasn't one of them) didn't work for me. that being said, overall this was OUTSTANDING entertainment.
i couldn't stand this junk, and i was walking a treadmill for a couple hours at the time. usually most anything will do then. these types of shows especially easy to pass the time while "treadin'". the choppy editing - camera work is so obviously designed to hide the fact there is ZERO watchable content in this. Keeping Up With The Kardashians is an emmy-worthy masterpiece compared to this. i got nothing against this guy, honest. it's just that bad.
