WOW, an emotional knockout. Driven by strong performances and a sense of editing this heart touching portrait and comment on the politics of immigration if one of the best dramas of the year. Touching, heartful with stunning visuals and a sense of tension this is obviously in very savy hands. Some scenes are a little too clichés or too on the nose but it doesn't stop the emotion to flourish when needed and to climax in the most beautiful build up to the last moment. Credits...and i was crying all i can.
A bit of a letdown and despite its title, it is definately Scream 5. The joy of diving back in this beloved series has quickly evaporated while watching what is 'The force Awakens' of the Scream franchise. A touch of nostalgia, a bit of meta comments and loads of common grounds. Not enough novelty to level up the stakes or even the pleasure. Unlike in Wes Craven's entries there are many slow moments and the choice of the lead does not appear as the smartest one, should be Ortega instead. The directing is respectful of the past but maybe not innovative for a bit. Surely the least interesting of the series but still has some things to be enjoyed like the bloody murderers, the iconisation of ghoshtface and a few commentaries on modern society but still leaves a bitter taste not enough sweet to be remembered.
Pretty pretty entertaining. Well written and very well acted a non stop ride of emotions ranging mostly from funny lines to awkward situation and unease with great payoff. It is short but for its own good there's no a minute lost and it's a constant whirlwind with a bunch of interesting social commentaries. One of the best comedy of the year for sure.
Meh! Feels so much out of franchise but can whatsoever be found a little enjoyable on the surface. Too chatty with no sense of cleverness like in Reloaded, for me it is the worst entry among the four films. Not well directed, with a lack of significant action pieces and low key fight scenes. Brings nothing new and worse puts everything in jeopardy on the weight of the woke era for what end up being a sadly mixed bags of missed opportunities where even the nostalgia factor cannot level up the enthusiasm of enduring the boringness of it all. Guess the other sister was the more effective one of the duet.
Unsatisfying but respectful of the source material. Maybe too much to really feel like a movie. There's a lack of character development and unfortunately a misopportunity
as far as scares go. Too much relying on bad CGI unfortunately. It has some interesting shots, set up, and ambiance but that does not compensate for the feeling of seeing something of a 90's direct to video...proves it is still hard to adapt video game in something of a good movie.
