Disappointing. The reviews got me there, kept me in my seat awaiting a worthwhile story but frankly, I guess it comes down to his life & story, and yes, it totally bored me.
One of the most unique & interesting holocaust movies I've even seen. We get it..of all the war crimes & tragedies of our time, NOT ONE has gotten as much attention & film coverage as the Holocaust. Not even close. I don't know if that's fair or not (maybe devote some time & films to the 9-10M Stalin massacred, just an idea) but one thing is certain, it's hard to tell anything new anymore, it's been done in almost every fashion. I believe it's true, not everyone will appreciate the tone (even some humor) that belies this little gem, but they are doing so at great peril as there's a bigger message not to be missed. A wonderful, touching, stark gem. Finally from the eyes of a German child inculcated in a CRAZY awful historical time. And if one fails to THINK much after this film, I'd imagine they have to work at it. Both the script & acting are TOP notch.
how does anyone find her funny? And she wrote this. So we have Mom & daughter doing the "slut walk of shame" & MOM doesn't even notice her kid's done this with her, maybe ask her WHO she was with? And the humor is so awful, it's beyond words...all caricatures! It's beyond belief this was made, it's that horrible. .
