Not that disagree of the hacking going on. I'm judging it as a movie overall and it kinda was boring. And the main whistle blower annoyed me big time.
I'm stunned at the 42 percent rating here. You people been to the theater in the last few years to watch sci fi movies? Only gripe I had was the 2 kids. Got on my nerves allot. But the special effects were good. Cruise in his usual solid acting. Nice touch with the original War of the worlds actors doing a cameo at the end.
Watched this for the second time and I still don't know what to make of this movie. I was a kid in the 80's so the soundtrack and the feel of the movie I can relate to. Its not a bad movie but not at the top of my all time favorite list. I thought of the movie Memento in which you gotta read between the lines to figure this out. Never saw Jake in a movie with him so young. I think Jarhead might of been the first movie I saw him in. He's good.
Just watched this for the 1st time in ages. I guess it hold up ok. Acting is fine. I like the special effects as far as the surface on Metaluna goes. But the ship leaving Earth doesn't hold up well. The one part of the plot that I guess I sorta glossed over when I saw this as a kid thats pretty messed up is the fact that Exeter and his group kills 6 scientist and that poor cat. Yet by the end of the movie Professors Adams and Meacham totally ignore that fact and feel sorry for him. They should of taking that instruction book and hit him over the head with it.
