This first half of the movie is absolutely entrancing, immediately sucking you in with its amazing, quiet, and extremely brutal atmosphere. The directing and shooting were very well done, and I couldn't help but feel a pang of nostalgia for the Last of Us (John Krasinski, I feel, would be great as Joel).
The second half, however, fails because of clichà (C)s and stereotypes, as well as quite a few holes in the story's logic. A certain character gets really annoying, and the gritty realism established by the brutal opening scene seems to crumble away.
Despite its faults, A Quiet Place manages to be an impressive work of art. Definitely recommended.
