Dial M for Murder (1954)
Less fluid and free visually than Hitchcock's usual due to unwieldy 3D cameras but still innovative in use of the 3D and still brilliantly directed. Grace Kelly is perfection and the clever, witty script and performances added to the gripping scenes and suspense make this another Hitch classic.

The 39 Steps (1935)
Early archetypal innocent man on the run thriller from Hitchcock. This is funny, romantic, classy and superbly directed. There is sparkling dialogue but a scene at a farmhouse table where no words are used and simple looks and gestures communicate so much epitomises the genius of Hitchcock.
