Possibly one of the greatest cinematic achievements of all time. While the show perfectly documents the events of the 1986 Chernobyl accident it also manages to create engaging and complex characters. The show keeps a constant feeling of dread throughout the whole series.
While everything in the show is a cliche of some sort, it manages to use that to its advantage by not trying to be something new but something we've seen many times before reincarnated. If you like the Goonies or Stand By Me or anything like that, you'll enjoy this show
A geniously frightening and inventive horror show that doesn't rely on cheap cliches or tropes. The characters are like-able and you are able to connect with them through great performances. And the show is absolutely terrifying.
