I love Jack Whitehall but this is unoriginal. One of the biggest red flags for me was how salty and crude he was about his breakup. It felt more tone deaf than funny. The rest of it is just a bore that's been done before.
The film is mehhhhhh
The first 2/3 of the film is an effective physiological thriller using sound design to create a feeling of unease after that is a typical big horror ending even including an unscary cgi villan
The film is the typical Sandler comedy with mean spirited and dumb lowest denominator humor. The only pro is the bit of effort seen in Samberg
The film is a smart and empathic tale which on first look may be a typical time loop movie but on the inside is a tale about two people stuck together and starting a relationship my only issue with the film is the logic of the loop and how the issue is resolved with the stupid random science. But the film is carried by the humor and genuine performances Palm Springs is my favorite film of 2020 so far
