I unironically love this movie. Mostly due to the West Side Story parody that's at the center of the plot. It's an earnest attempt at meta-movie humor. The songs are catchy and actually move the story along. The characters are perfect representations of classic movie musical complete with a turf war and shallow personalities. The dialogue is what you would expect from a DCOM. But, the plot is creative and entertaining. It's definitely a step up from usual Disney Channel movies.
It's a poor mans' Dead Poets Society but there is nothing wrong with that. Matt Damon shines as a conniving high school student among the anti semetic crowd of this fictitious school.
A mediocre adaptation of a fantastic movie. Though I did quite enjoy Luke Evans's portrayal of the narcissistic Gaston.
This isn't your classic Agatha Christie novel. Witty, stylish, and sharp as a knife. This stellar ensemble piece coupled with fantastic writing, this movie elevates the playing field of all murder mysteries to come.
Kathryn Grayson has the voice of an angel and the pent up resentment of a real shrew. Howard Keel is both poignant and a louse. Ann Miller is a triple threat if ever there was one. With a comedic duo like Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore, this show is Wunderbar!
