JCS is a great rock opera with a very dated 70's sound - but it is still an amazing musical that said. Whatever flaws this film may have, seeing the performances of Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson more than make up for them. Norman Jewison does a masterful job directing the epic film.
I was truly blown away by this movie. DiCaprio, Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie were all just incredible. The film is like a wild roller coaster of insanity and debauchery that you think must have to slow down at some point - but instead goes faster and backwards! I'm still dumbfounded that DiCaprio didn't get an Oscar for this role.
I'll never understand why the critics ravaged this film the way they did. Yes, the idea of the character's extreme plastic surgery as a form of identity protection is a bit far fetched - but no more so than many others plot points in many more successful movies. Jolie is gorgeous in the film - and the costume design is reminiscent of Faye Dunaway and other great iconic movie stars in glamour roles. The dialogue is great, sometimes clever, at times hysterically funny. I think that Depp has great chemistry with Jolie once he drops the :nervous schoolteacher act - and the cinematography of Venice is unbelievably romantic.
Unique and unbelievably original - like everything from the mind of Charlie Kaufman. This film is not for viewers who like to watch things on auto-pilot. Funny & thought-provoking, Adaptation is an unpredictable wild ride of epic proportions. Stellar performances by Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper take the film to another level.
Brilliant animated classic with so much heart! John Goodman give an incredibly endearing voice performance as Sully. I can never make it through this one without shedding a few tears.
