Color Out of Space (2019)
While it seemed to channel horror author Junji Ito a bit more than HP Lovecraft, that's no complaint by any means. Color out of Space is a bone-chilling and gruesome body horror madhouse made all the more unnerving by Nicolas Cage's increasingly mad performance.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Simple heartwarming family entertainment. Better than something like Hop or Peter Rabbit, worse than something like Babe. I'd put it about on par, if not slightly better than, Detective Pikachu. Carrey is back in top form after his long depression and seeing that high energy back on the big screen was a great thing to see by itself.

Weirdly this review got deleted.

Rambo: Last Blood (2019)
A hell of a full circle ride. Rounds off itself off so nicely that there really isn't a need for a sequel. It would be hard to top, anyway. The hallway scene in particular is a great, brutal sequence. I only wish the movie was a little longer.

Annihilation (2018)
The closest thing to a Lovecraftian film we've gotten so far. Existential dread and abominable horror prevail in Annihilation. Even Natalie Portman's dull performance can't mar this visually beautiful and deeply atmsopheric trek.
