Really great film, witty, wonderfully acted
Visually and musically stunning, which may put it in the same genre as well made music videos.
The whole thing is a bit goth camp really, but yeh, a plausible explanation for a fictional character like Joker - but why bother? There is a lot more insidious "subtler" evil in the world at present which really needs to be exposed.
Phoenix is over the top good, but let's face it, most actors would give their eye teeth for this role, and probably do just a good a job with this very self indulgent role.
Great movie. Surprised how well acted and directed it is. While the plot and "baddies" maybe are a little cliche, the lead Corfield really makes it all work, getting the evolution from innocence to feisty perfectly.
Clever, excellent interpretation of a pivotal moment in the Catholic church, and quite believable. Pryce is truly superb (as always) as is Hopkins. An intense, slow moving character study that is worth the perseverance.
