On my third viewing of this film, I forgot I didn't review it here. This movie is literally perfect. Amazing score, soundtrack, directing, animation, writing, and even is a mostly faithful adaptation to the comics it's based on. This might have been my first 5-star-rating but it does follow the same stereotypical superhero origin cycle that is played out. Still absolutely wonderful and highly recommend.
Amazing cinematography and choreography. The set design is sub par but barely noticeable. I highly recommend seeing it. Any time an action film is described as "hard hitting," I can guarantee they don't hit as hard or as fast as Donnie Yen.
The film succeeded in making me cry and making me have adoration for the characters. It uses its sci-fi element to a very thought-provoking effect. They set up enough "rules" to make it interesting to a sci-fi fan but not to the point where the average moviegoer would dislike.
At the time of watching it, I only watched it because I had a crush on Cara Delevigne and wanted to see every film with her in it, but she's barely in the film. However, that wasn't a bad thing. I loved the other characters way more. Radar, Ben, and Quentin are amazing in the film and add all of the heart it was needing. The overall plot is a little rushed at times, but that usually happens when you are adapting a book into a film.
A really fun and amazing film with a lot of heart. If you aren't familiar with Pokemon, you might be a bit confused.
