There really was no need for this movie to be re-made. Anyone here that thinks this is a good movie and hasn't seen the original should have their head examined. I'm by no means saying the original was a great movie, but this remake or sequel is ridiculous. I think going clubbing or drinking alcohol would be the last thing I would do immediately after being brought back from death. Each time one of them gets brought back, they immediately go party? And what is with this concept that dying and coming back makes you suddenly smarter? Like being able to figure out a Rubik's cube in like 10 seconds, or the one girl's sudden ability to drive a car like she's Mario Andretti. It's beyond dumb. Or how about the guy being haunted by an ex he had an abortion with, why is she shown looking like the girl from the Ring? Lol she's still alive!! I think the director has watched The Grudge a few too many times to, as some of the "scares" are complete ripoffs of that movie. 5 medical students that act like horny drunken teenagers, it's nonsense. And lets have one of them die in a completely stupid way. Do yourself a favor and watch the original movie if you like the concept.
Orlando Bloom can really play a whiny, wimpy, coward. Which is what Paris is in this film. Just looking at him, I bet he wasn't acting very hard. Good battle scenes, decent acting from Pitt and Bana. It's a decent movie.
How is it that a movie about tornadoes made 18 years after Twister can look so ridiculously fake. You would think with better CGI it would make it more realistic. It's an absolute joke of a film, not even close to Twister.
Here's my problem with the remake(so far). Sure the 1990 mini-series was a little cheesy, but at least they made pennywise goofy! After all, he is a clown!! Why did they make him so serious all the damn time, for me I enjoyed the goofiness of the 1990 Pennywise. Other than that it was alright. I'm not sure the extra gore(compared to mini-series) makes it any better. I was hoping to laugh and be creeped out at the same time, and the mini-series did that much better. I'm sure the conclusion this year won't be any different.
I saw this in theaters totally expecting to be disappointed. People that haven't seen the original 1989 one, need to instead of this one. Sure, the original had its faults, but there was something much creepier about it. This remake takes that creepiness away with silly jump scares, horrible dialogue with dead Ellie. I'm not sure how people on here can say this was much better than the original. The original Zelda(much creepier), original Pascow(creepier, more dialogue). I think the original captured the eery feeling from reading the book much better than this silly remake which makes changes for the worse. If you are wanting to see a Pet Semetary and never have, watch the '89 version.
