Its a blumhouse film. So its going to be filmed on a super cheap budget, over a short period of time. That being said, its not a bad film. I found myself entertained for most of it. A lot of tropes are used from start to finish. Its worth a watch if you're bored.
I wish it was a little longer and dived into the source material a little longer. The beginning was really fun but then it starts to develop plot holes and inconsistent characters.
An Oscar bait film that is worthy of the hype. It's very well directed and shot. The writing isn't original but is good. If you're a fan of foreign films then this won't disappoint.
A feel good movie that has some well acted characters.
A bottle film that has some tense moments. Joseph Gordon Levitt puts in a very good performance.
Simple and really easy to follow. It has a few action shots that will take you by surprise. The movie knows what type of film it is, and makes fun of its self for it.
I thought for sure that nothing was going to top "The murder of Nicole Simpson Brown" for worst movie of the year.....But here we are with this offensive garbage.
Better than the 3rd movie for sure.
This one uses a lot of the same formula as the first two moves, but pushes the envelope on likelihood. The best part of the movie was the Carrie Fisher cameo.
Kind of felt empty after watching it. Same parts can be annoying and drag on. The ending and the big reveal kind of had me scratching my head in confusion.
A horror movie that help rejuvenate the slasher style. Its meta and self aware of it own tactics and tropes. Overall worth a watch for most fans of the genre.
This movie reeks of early 2000's tropes. I was'nt annoyed initially but the more I sat and thought of the film, the more I scratched my head. So many things happen out of either luck or just bad writing. I did like Cillian Murphy and Rachael McAdams characters for most of the movie. But acting can only carry a poorly written script so long. The side characters really are the worst and most inconvenient people throughout the whole movie. Which is insulting to some of them and their professions. I really can't stand it when everyone outside of the main cast are complete idiots, and are oblivious to everything in their surroundings. I blame Final destination for forcing that on this movie.
The beginning is slow and takes some considerable time to build up. Once it does hit the half way mark it picks up speed and doesn't slow down. Some of the dialogue can be hard to hear / understand but considering this movie is 46 years old, then its pretty understandable. I remember watching this as a kid and it still hits on most cylinders for me.
A modern classic that still works even 60 plus years later. You can tell this inspired a lot of Mystery / suspense movies.
Its flashy and fun to watch but by the end its too convoluted with plot holes. Too many things are vaguely unexplained or not at all. So many things feel un earned due to lazy writing.
Pixar nails another Toy Story movie that manages to advance the plot. The movie manages to have an emotional connection that caps off this franchise.
Margo Robbie is a great fit and casting as Harley Quinn. Black Mask is one of the weaker DC villains, but that kind of makes it a little more grounded. The tone is uneven and sloppy at times. Some scenes are just outlandish to say the least. But I was never bored during its justified 1 hour and 45 minute run time. It's its a step in the right direction after the abomination that was suicide squad.
This will entertain more of the hardcore sonic fans than non fans. I got some genuine laughs from start to finish. Some Things are a little over the top cough cough (Jim Carey). But he's basing himself off an actual cartoon / comic book character, so I will look past that. Because you can tell he was giving it his all in his performance. Thank goodness they re did the model character after seeing the initial version get so much backlash. Overall a kids movie that adults can also enjoy a little bit.
I'm a sucker for detective/ mystery movies. This movie is'n perfect by any means, but it was fun to watch. The pacing is decent and isn't unbearable at any point in time. The film has some pretty good actors that tend to be under utilized. If you'r a fan of "who done it" movies then give this one a shot.
It feels like a knockoff of the movie Cloverfield. It even has TJ Miller playing the same character in this film. The monster is also so similar. Down to the point that the monsters offsprings breeds/grows off the monsters body. Kristen Stewart gives a good performance and shows that he can have some range as an actress. But it doesn't help that they modeled her character as Ripley from alien/aliens, down to the underwear. I'm not sure why this movie finished shooting in 2017 and finally released in 2020. It has its moments that are good but I have zero emotional connection to any of these characters. When people die I have a very hard time thinking about the characters background, because we aren't given one. Kristen Stewart's performance is one of the main reasons this movie doesn't get a lower rating.
