I feel this movie is under-rated by the professional critics, because they look at the technical and feel it's a sloppy movie.
I love the way the story is told, and the action is very well done in my opinion.
So many movies do fight scenes that bore me, and I believe it's because they don't feel real or natural.
In the movie, everyone speaks of Achilles being a natural fighter blessed by the gods, but his own language and more importantly to me, his moves during the battles show of a well practiced fighter. He uses the same moves over and over, which are impressive the first time one sees them, but the fact he uses them again and again, and they don't always work for him, but he then moves onto another one, shows he's practiced and trained these moves. It shows he's got a library of moves to choose from, and he uses them over and over. And they surprise his opponents who haven't seen him use them before, and that's why the often work for him, but to him it's the same-old-same-old. The fighting Choreography is top-notch for that alone, in my opinion... but, it's well done in so many ways.
This movie is a well done, typical action movie.
Stargate felt a bit like a B-Film, but I loved it anyway.
This movie is delightfully corny.
