In my opinion making a spinoff movie of the nun would have been interesting if executed decent enough. I would say this was lazy and effortless but the set design (beside some off putting special effects) and decent acting was above what expected. Even within a bigger budget, it still seemed this whole could've done without. The story had some major flaws such as the beginning should have started at the Vatican but, besides some of those other tropes and clichés, this was enjoyable with a friend. Probably hope that they put more time into story than the scares but I would have to say half the time, they got me on those scares.
The funniest thing about this movie is that I have a friend who looks like Gargamel. Lol lol lol lol lol lol!
The story is not something to praise. The editing on the other hand is over-the-top! Love how the film knows what it is. This was an understatement and underrated gem! As for the acting as well is overly funny. IN A GOOD WAY. LOVED IT!
This director's comeback to the film industry is not as subtle as some may think. I thought CAPONE was really intriguing. This isn't a shoot-him-up kinda film and I'm glad to say that you can still invest your time into it. While this film may not be for everybody, it is just so unique and original that I can't say it was bad. Maybe just a bit over-the-top. This script may not be historically accurate, but it may have that subtle spark of creativity to push it forward. Besides that some-time change in tone that would occur in between scenes, the final act takes a more serious turn for the better. Definitely a 2020 standout in the crowd but, might want to turn on subtitles.
For those stale horror fans out there who are begging for some horror effects. This is for you. Blumhouse has made some effective horror flicks but, this wasn't one of them.
THE EYES OF MY MOTHER captures the tension of loneliness that all pays off in the final scene. It has its slasher qualities but, is delicate with that they show. With performances good to fit the subject matter, direction in this film is unique. The slow-burn of it all kinda roughs it up but It'll definitely stay with you for a while. Also, it may have poor rewatch ability due to the slow pace and the resolution at the end. But, with that above-average script and outstanding first time filmmaking, I can say that this was an interesting ride that got me a bit hooked.
Nostalgic ride for the older viewers born around this time. There is really no substances here, as someone said "it's just a style movie" with a decent soundtrack to hold it all together!
Tugs at the heart. Love the different chapters put into one film. Good source material used in an emotional setting. Decent performances to pull this off!
Great story! Watched this when I was a kid so it's already good in that perspective.
Laughable. A big budget with a horrible outcome. I watch this with a friend and it was honestly bad, but enjoyable a bit. But not good. Acting is really bad for a budget like this. Soundtrack falls flat and I felt nothing. The effects are actually not that bad but, are mediocre at best. So is everything else, the plot is mediocre, the action. It all fell flat. M. Night Shyamalan needs to stick with his suspense, not directing action. Especially if this was my first time watching this and I haven't even seen the show. I literally watch this before I watched the show. My friend watched the show and told me this was nothing compared to the greatness of the show!
What did I just watch? Dora? Oh my. This was cringe as can be. This is one of the best cringe movies I have seen. Good Dora live-action with ok performances but, cringe worthy dialogue. What a ride!
A classic and more of the charming cult it is. This is most certainly one of the most funny and creative films that I have seen. This unique medieval time adventure has humor and remarkable characters, scenes and lines.
Art the clown's performance was the best part. You could say the practical effects were good, but they abused it. The kills are gory and are hard to watch. And the other performances sometimes feel off putting. This was kinda a disappointment from a horror indie film everyone was talking about. But, I'll give credit cause it was pretty low budget. Was scary, I'll give it that. Also, if you had given this a watch you know what you were in for by the title. With some iconic scenes for the horror genre and fans. If you are a fan yourself of horror and most definitely gore, this may be your thing.
This does offer surprisingly entertaining and color-filled action for all ages. Despite dated source material and some-what over-filled plot conveniences.
GAME NIGHT has a lot of frights. Good frights make for a good night!
Comedic relief with fine acting. The plot is unoriginal but, happens to have a spark of creativity. Adam Sandler takes this to above the deeds. A bit.
Electric super action filmmaking! Tom Cruise makes this a fun soar in the sky!
One of the best melodramatic movies that involve the revolutionary war I have ever seen. And probably will ever see for that matter. This was excellent filmmaking, with casting above-average. The cast that lead the drama was lead well for that fact.
With Keanu Reeves, anything is possible. But this. This was a missed opportunity.
