This series is not a continuation of Penny Dreadful, it actually is just Dreadful. The story is awful, the monsters almost non existent, and the lead actress does not make the part of the villian watchable. Such a disappointment considering how much i loved the original series. Hopefully no season 2 for this turkey. Another season of the original would be great though!
The first 4 or 5 episodes had me hooked, then it all fell apart. Totally unrealistic decisions and the characters seemed unlikeable as the season went along. Sad that it was a misfire from the other 2 seasons.
Meh. This series, despite some good scares was just too slow. Could have done with several episodes less and there is no sense of fun. Very depressing to the extent i didn't finish it. Repetitive and annoying, with no likeable characters. 2/5
I absolutely loved the first 2 episodes, with so many twists and turns (and dark humour), I wish it would have ended on a cliffhanger at the end of the second episode though as i thoroughly hated the last episode. All the tension build from the first 2 episodes was squandered with a post-modern meta twist that felt unnecessary and down right boring. Such a shame that it let the other 2 episodes down. But 4/5 for the first 2 and 1/5 for the last episode.
A great underrated horror series. This had a great story, actors and some greats twists. 4/5
Such a great show, i actually enjoyed this so much more than the previous season. Great acting, writing, it is absoloutly absorbing. Yes, the subject matter is a little difficult to view at times, but the charactor driven plot is flawless. 4.5/5
Was this my favourite season? No. But i definitely got a kick out of a Coven / Murder House crossover. All the actors give their all to the characters they are portraying although the beginning of the season didn't appeal to me at all. With some loose threads not ended properly throughout. But the amazing Jessica Lange made an appearance, and its bittersweet at how much she actually carried a lot of AHS in the beginning and hopeful she makes more cameos down the line. I loved her in the episode she was in. 3/5
A thoroughly enjoyable season. Coven centres on a school for witches. Its camp, fun and full of great performances and twists. Loved this season. 4/5
I enjoyed this season, not as much as the previous 4, but there was alot to be enjoyed. The cast are great, and Gaga is also good, though not as great as Lange would have been in that charactor. It is a stylish season and i think reviewers where harsh in initial reviews. 3.5/5
Everything anyone could want in an AHS season. This asylum is scary, twisted, and strange in all the best ways possible. Jessica Lange is terrific, as are all the cast involved. Bloody Face is truly frightening in this season also. 5/5
The AHS format is a shadow of its former glory, with this season focusing on the tired found footage format. Not only has it been done to death, its been done way better. Plot twists that lead to nowhere, Sarah Paulson screaming aimlessly, everything about this season was a miss. The found footage twist was garbage too. So much talent squandered with a pointless season. 1/5
A horrible addition to the AHS seasons. This centred on politics which i found extremely boring. The cult elements also missed the mark. (the wonderful) Sarah Paulson's charactor was reduced to screaming her way through the entire season. And don't get me started on the underwhelming plot twist at the end. Tripe. 1/5
