I absolutely love this movie! Every time I see it, and I've seen it a lot, I love it. Like the characters who live every day over and over; I watch this movie over and over and get caught up in the story and action all over again. If there was justice in the world, film makers would be able to pull this off more often.
Really, really, really enjoyed this film. Johnson and Statham have great chemistry. Lot's of whoa! moments. I found myself laughing out loud a couple of times; and was taken by surprise several times--always a good sign. Johnson and Statham, along with two others, executive produced the film. The other 10 producers were mostly made up stars who got screen time. They made a good investment. I'll see this again while it's still in the theaters.
I must have seriously low expectations as compared to the critics who reviewed this movie. I thought it was a lot of fun, exciting and, ultimately, very satisfying. My measure of a good restaurant is would I go there for another meal. Likewise, my measure of a good movie is whether I'd see it again. So far, I've seen this movie three times. I've enjoyed it every time; even when I think I remember what comes next.
This is one of my favorite movies. My father and I would watch it over and over. I agree it is seriously under rated. Some of the criticism from critics cite cinematic devices that were relatively unknown at the time that are now common fare. My biggest lament is that there was no sequel as was hinted at at the end of the movie. Love it!
