This coming-of-age film is appropriately cheesey, surprisingly raunchy, but with a whole lot of laughs! Took a chance on this surprise-hit of the summer and I have no regrets. Haven't laughed this hard at the movie theater in years.
Not for kids--adults only!
I don't have enough digits on my person to count the number of times I was offended, but, oh, how I laughed! Chappelle is unapologetic in his reminder to us of what it means to be a comedian: rejection of political correctness, pushing the boundaries of comedy, disregard of sensitivity and freedom of speech. He doesn't pander to the audience, he doesn't seek their approval; he's a thought provoking master of his profession who just keeps getting better.
Take it or leave it, he doesn't care. What Chappelle prizes most is the freedom to be the comedian he wants to be.
