This was the first movie of the whole franchise that I ever watched (back in 2008) and I don't think I ever rewatched it since around that time but it is genuinely good? I loved how it felt kinda gritty like the original one and also none of the leads have the horror-movie-character stupidity syndrome so I kinda felt bad for them... Plus the ending was fun, really dig this 'no one survives' thing because I wasn't that swayed by the final girl
Honestly I thought I figured this movie out from the (IMDB) summary but nope... I was so wrong. I expect it to be kinda like Excision (which I like a lot), meaning, I expected the female lead will be a kinda likable killer type... NOPE
This really positively surprised me! I didn't expect it to be this fucked up & violent & gory... This was such a solid watch. I do think perhaps the motive was kind of weak, like I wish we got some more info but overall I don't care because this was very nice and fucked up which is all I need.
This one I liked more as a movie rather than the first one...
This movie i really just so depressing? Michael is slowly becoming more and more unbearable throughout the movie and this contrasted with the flashbacks of young Vito just made me sad. Ii again don't know what else to say tat was not said before. The last flashbacks made me shed a tear I really wasn't expecting that... it just made everything a bit more grim because it really emphasizes to me how much has been lost
On a less serious note, this movie is truly a gift for no only giving us young Al Pacino, but also young Robert De Niro, SPEAKING ITALIAN. This has awakened something in me...
The Godfather part I, also known as, when Michael was likable and we still had Sonny :^(
I don't know what I can say about this that everyone else in the world hadn't already said. This movie was so good it didn't even really feel like it was 3 hours long because I enjoyed every moment of it. I really love everything about it, and out of part one & two, this one is my favourite as a mafia movie because I just love the way the plot flows and how real the crime world the movie creates is.
Also, shout out to the cat at the first scene, he was the REAL hero of the movie
This felt like it had the potential to actually be a decent movie, with the whole old slasher trope of the serial killer's dark depressing past, but it feels like it just missed on everything that it could've been and ended up messy and odd... Super absurd in the first half, then the second half delivers an actual slasher-like plot but it's still so disappointed and boring as well
