DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ! The only reason why critics say this movie is "good" is because it compares the rich and the poor and the differences and shove the differences in your face so you feel sad and emotion. Thats pretty much what this movie is about. Boring, long, and often times you find yourself just waiting for the character to do what theyre supposed to do. You'll be sitting their waiting through dialogue and more dialogue till finally the movie progresses. It heavily lags for the plot to move. It takes unexpected twists and turns that are just annoying and you sit there thinking, "really? did I really sit through this movie for this to happen?" The twists and turns will annoy you, because you will know where the movie is headed. I beg you dont waste your time, the only reason why people like it is because it played to their emotions of how sad it is to be poor while others are ultra wealthy. To be honest, I think the movie is overall stupid.
Its not great or bad but its okay. Its impossible to not compare it to the original. The animation/cgi is stellar, very amazing, perhaps the best ive ever seen and thats why I give it such high rating. Other than that the original is much superior in every way. This movie is almost a scene for scene shot of the original but the dialogue and the voice actors lack passion and drama. The dialogue in pivotal moments that are key to emphasizing emotion in important scenes are changed, and not in a good way, it takes a lot of the power in key scenes out of the film. Powerful moments and statements made in the original are brushed over quickly in this one. It feels rushed, you don't get the same impact as the original which is very unfortunate because this movie is very beautifully done well. It is very beautiful to watch. They should've been kept the same delivery in dialogue if they were going to do a shot for shot remake. The voice actors aren't great either, it seems off. Their performances come off as very stale, like they are reading a book. No emotion is felt at all, seems very weird, throws you out of the movie. Music isn't great either, it doesn't hit at all, seems like they just put it in their for star power. Overall its a decent movie because of its fantastic animation, which is very unfortunate because this movie had A LOT of potential, it could have been really good but Favreau and the actors fail to create anything with substantial emotion. If the director and actors did as well as the CGI creators this movie would've been a tremendous hit, but instead it completely lacks the heart and is void of the spirit that comes from the original.
Joker is a slow burn with plenty of underlying messages ending in a bang ultimately making the movie all worth while. This movie is definitely not for children, it is rated R for a reason. There are many societal messages that are very relative to today society, hopefully bringing them to a much needed global platform discussion. Joaquin Phoenix delivers a brilliant and gripping performance to say the least. Todd Philips surprises with how well its directed, from the visuals, the score, the pacing, its unlike any of his other movies.Very impressive. I would have never thought this is from the same guy who directed the Hangover trilogy and War Dogs. It starts off slow so if you are expecting your classic superhero movie that has plenty of action, this is not for you. It is very much a character piece, with a range of emotions, sometimes very sad and often times frightening. There are parts that are hard to watch, not because of any violence but what Arthur Fleck endures in the scenes. I would say there is hardly any action but its a good thing, its not needed in a character dive. The final act is what completes the film in thrilling and intense moments giving birth to who we all know as the Joker. This movie is definitely not for everyone, its going to be a hit for a lot of people and will miss with a lot of people, but for everyone it is a must-watch to make their decision.
Endgame is truly the Endgame for our heroes that started us on this epic journey. Jaw dropping scenes, unforgettable moments, laugh out loud puns, fantastic character crossovers, and talented actors truly bringing out the best in their characters, this movie is outstanding. It has raised the bar so high that I don't know how many any super hero movie is going to be able to top this one. I just hope future super hero movies don't try to make it this epic without the great quality done in this film because it will water down the super hero genre, if it isn't already. The movie is 3 hours long but you don't feel the length of the movie at all, it feels a lot shorter, the pacing is excellent. They dive into the characters issues much more than I expected, by showing how much everyone has suffered from the time of Infinity War. Its a must watch for any super hero fan. It is the highest grossing film ever, and is probably the pinnacle of all super hero movies.
Pretty funny and fresh. Eminem as a producer did a great job pulling this off. Its not easy to take the 'typical white boy becomes rapper' story line thats been played out in many past movies, mostly comedies, and turn it into something where the comedy hits and is worth watching. The rap battles are over the top and actually really good. The bars are pretty savage, they go hard. The comedy is good, fits in really well with the film. There are some pop culture star cameos sprinkled throughout. You'll be entertained, the flow is nonstop so its unlikely you'll find a dull moment. There are a several instances where its so embarrassing its hard to watch. If you're hanging out with your friends its a good movie to watch with other people. If you love rap battles this is a must-watch. I can see this movie becoming a cult classic in time. Its definitely worth checking out!
