Sam Rockwell makes this movie. It's a fun and unique premise that is mostly pulled off
I hate that all discussion about this film's failure is bc it stars women, when in reality it's because no one wants to buy expensive movie tickets to see a film that is the quality of a straight to DVD 2000s movie
It isn't as good as Get Out and I get why people don't like it, as the film doesn't want to give concrete answers. But the surrealness and inplications of the story and imagery are stuck in my head and the film does a terrific job at making you really uneasy.
I can't say I didn't love a film that I can't stop thinking about and theorizing in my head months later after seeing it only once.
It isn't an amazing movie, but it's really fun an imaginative with some cool surreal elements and Ryan Reynolds's interactions with Tim are great. Definitely will see the sequel when it releases
Created an account here just to give this movie 5 stars. I went in with little expectations and was blown away by this terrifying masterpiece. It's a slow build and is a hard movie to watch but it's also hard to take your eyes off it and will make your heart jump.
The thing about the critic reviews that really gets me is that Phoenix's acting is phenomenal and the film is shotnand directed with such quality that it objectively deserves better scores even if they didn't enjoy it but their personal biases is overwhelming that.
