Terrible waste of time. This film is a combination of boring and corny, topped with overwrought CGI and bottom-rung acting. No direction. Too long. Noticeable editing errors. WB/DC should be ashamed to put this product out. I thought the first WW film was at least fun to watch, for a comic book film. I don't know what happened with this follow-up, but please don't do it again.
A first-rate, honest, moving, sparse, and devastating movie. Hillcoat's direction was tight and well-paced. Cinematography was gorgeous, especially handling the symbolism and evanescent beauty of the sunsets. Winstone, Pearce, and Huston were remarkable. All 3 avoided the clichés usually associated with their character types. Emily Watson's talents were mostly wasted, except for the scene where she tells about her dream of the ghost baby. I also loved John Hurt in his short but effective time on screen.
The most memorable aspect of the film for me was the focus on the brother's relationships and the impossible task given to Pearce's character. The second aspect was the comparison of the treatment of the Aboriginals in the Outback with the treatment of the American Indians in the West.
I didn't know Nick Cave could write screenplays, although I am not surprised. Bravo.
On the down side, the graphic gore was over the top and dragged down the movie. I also wanted to know the back story on the brothers. Why did they become outlaws?
Excellent addition to the post-apocalypse genre while still managing to avoid most of the genre's clichés. Good action, funny, sad, great acting, wonderful dialog, smart direction, and clever use of CGI. The movie has heart, which is rare these days. I was especially moved by the damaged robot and the super smart dog.
See this movie.
This film tried hard but the result was a confusing mess. I like SciFi but this movie was so convoluted that in the end I didn't care what happened. I just wanted it to be over with. The plot was messy, too much CGI, direction was sometimes nonexistent, never-ending fight & chase scenes, and the acting was a mixed bag.
Don't waste your time or money on this film. It is a headache-inducing mess.
DO NOT waste your time or money on this film. It is an abject failure. It commits the ultimate sin: boredom. The writing is slow and predictable. Scenes last too long and just repeat the same message over and over: this character is lonely and probably insane.
Failed sequel attempt to recreate the magic of the original Zombieland. Misses on almost every account. Terrible, unfunny, uncreative, meandering script. Actors who tried nobly to save the movie but were defeated by bad writing and worse direction. Too much over-the-top gore. Felt sympathy for the talented cast. Do not waste your money on this film.
Excellent, classic-style mystery. Great cast. Surprising plot twists and turns. Wry sense of humor. Solid writing and direction. Impressive production values and art direction. Only quibble: Daniel Craig's disastrous attempt at a Southern accent.
Excellent movie. Disney-Pixar at their best. Superb storytelling, voice acting, direction, art, production design, character development. I was deeply touched by the amount of chemistry and emotions shown by these "toys". This is a prime example of the way that a studio shows respect to its fanbase/ audience and this is the right way to continue a wonderful franchise.
Terrible movie. Nothing worked. Bad direction, Horrible writing. Recycled CGI. The two Thompsons were good but had nothing to work with. Hemsworth sucked. It was boring and tedious. This movie was so bad that it may have damaged the franchise permanently.
OK popcorn movie.
Highlights: McAvoy and Fassbinder.
Lowlights: Lawrence, Tucker, Shipp, and Sheridan. Chastain was wasted on this film. No Wolverine. Too much CGI at the end. Shaky direction and poor dialogue. The franchise is getting tired and boring. Time to take a break.
This movie does more damage to the Marvel brand than anything that I've seen so far from the studio. It was soulless and the CGI was too far over the top to truly know what you were looking at. Waste of time and money.
I can't believe that any studio would actually release this piece of junk. It was just one long, long, long, boring video game. There is no actual film here, it is just dead space. Please stop making these. They damage the brains of those who watch them.
